Nearly 140 billion tenge to be allocated for satellite production in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is planning to produce satellites worth almost 140 billion tenge, Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary National Company reports. According to the updated development plan till 2030, the country will design and manufacture its own spacecraft for the domestic market. These will be high- and medium-resolution rockets carrying remote sensing satellites that can take pictures from space at least once a day. They will replace KazEOSat-2 and KazEOSat-1 satellites. In addition, private investments will be attracted to produce small satellites as well. Design work for developing the technologies and accumulation of flight hours will be started this year. It is also planned to launch small-scale production starting in 2024. Moreover, Kazakhstan will be involved in supplying components and spacecraft building services for international customers.
