Bauyrzhan
Kamaliyev, a detective officer from Kazakhstan’s criminal investigation
department, has set his fifth world record by pulling an airplane. He managed
to drag a heavy aircraft weighing 32.5 tonnes for a distance of ten meters.
Kamaliyev accomplished this impressive feat at the National Guard airbase as a
celebration for the upcoming professional holiday. The maximum mark was
officially recorded by a representative from Kazakhstan’s Book of Records.
«Every day, I work,
train, and come home to my family. So, I was ready to make it. My body must
always be as a taut string, poised for action. I’m prepared to get out of bed
at any moment to serve my country,» Kamaliyev shared.
«The landing gear
extends about ten meters. We congratulate Bauyrzhan, the law enforcement
officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on this great success. Today, the
police officer triumphed over the aircraft,» said Kuandyk Kudaibergenov,
official representative of Kazakhstan’s Book of Records.
The National Guard
airbase’s aircraft and helicopter fleet are used to transport military
personnel, deliver humanitarian aid, and evacuate people. The aircraft pulled
by Kamaliyev has previously been deployed to Türkiye, Syria, and Afghanistan
and has also been involved in flood control measures. The air squadron,
initially formed in the Almaty region during Kazakhstan’s early years of
independence, relocated to Astana in 2017 for quicker response capabilities.
«We currently operate three types of aircraft: the An-74, the An-26,
and the new Chinese-made Y-8. These aircraft are flagships in cargo
transportation, capable of carrying up to 20 tonnes. This capacity was
demonstrated during the recent extensive floods, where the majority, if not
all, of the cargo was transported by these planes,» noted Talgat Bulanov,
deputy commander of the National Guard’s air squadron.
