The National Coalition «For the People’s Constitution
of a Just and Progressive Kazakhstan» led by Chairman of the Mazhilis Yerlan
Koshanov visited the Akmola region. Meetings were held with the public, youth,
athletes, labor collectives, and representatives of the tourism sector. Koshanov
emphasized the significance of the new Constitution for the state, noting that
the country is entering a new historical period. He paid special attention to
the formation of the People’s Council. According to him, the new institution
will elevate public dialogue to a new level.
«It will serve as the highest consultative body representing the interests of the entire unified people of Kazakhstan. All the infrastructure and unique experience of the Assembly will be preserved and continue to function. The Khalyk Kenesi (People’s Council) will unite the regions, civil society, and ethnocultural associations into a single whole. The multiethnic voice of our people will grow stronger. Acting as one unified family and building on the Assembly’s accumulated experience the Council will be empowered to independently shape the legislative agenda,» said Yerlan Koshanov, the Chairman of the Mazhilis, the Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament.
In addition, the meeting participants emphasized the
importance of the new Basic Law for strengthening independence, developing
human capital, and supporting working people and youth. Particular attention
was given to issues of justice, social protection, safe working conditions, and
the preservation of cultural and natural heritage.
