Mass media representatives discuss information security issues in Astana

The Kazakh capital has again become the main communication platform of Central Asia, which is hosting the Astana Media Week 2023. The annual event traditionally sets new trends in the media industry. This time, the participants’ focus is placed on new digital solutions, including data protection and the use of IT products.

“We are presenting a unique IT product that operates based on artificial intelligence. There are certainly similar products in the world, but the difference is that we can monitor all the media outlets. We also have a special analytical center that conducts media analysis,” said Daniyar Bibassar, CEO of IT сompany.

Industry experts agree that along with solving problems related to the dissemination of false information and compliance with ethics in social networks, modern media need to introduce innovations in the field. Leading companies in the industry have gathered to exchange experiences in Astana. This year they represent Turkey, Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, South Korea and Central Asian countries.

“I can say that the event, which brought together not only representatives of the region and the Turkic world, but also of other countries, is being held at a high level. Thus, the dialogue takes place at the international level. I believe that holding the Astana Media Week in Kazakhstan is a real indicator that your country’s media industry serves as an example for others,” noted Mehmed Zahid Caliskan, head of Turkish TV and Radio Company’s representative office in Kazakhstan.

“The Kabar Kyrgyz National News Agency is ready to cooperate with the mass media of Kazakhstan and other countries of the region. I think that this interaction is necessary to form a common vision of information security in Central Asia,” shared Mederbek Shermetaliev, director of Kabar Kyrgyz National News Agency.

It is worth noting that for the first time in the history of the Astana Media Week 2023, the event will feature independent authors of podcasts and digital content. Overall, it is expected that more than 2,000 guests and 60 media managers will attend the three-day sessions.
