Lemons harvested in greenhouses of Turkistan region

Lemons are harvested in the Turkistan region. Farmers grow an exotic plant in greenhouses. Farmers create real tropics in them. Temperature and humidity are closely monitored. Only last season, 90 tonnes of citrus fruits were harvested here. This year, the harvest was also a success, farmers say.

“Lemon loves moisture. Here it is 60-80%. On summer days, it is more difficult to keep it. Sometimes we spray water ourselves to maintain humidity. Watering should be timely. It is necessary to trim on time,” said Abylaikhan Kossayev, a greenhouse owner.

This year, the region plans to increase the area of lemon gardens. 15 peasant farms of the Turkistan region have changed beds with tomatoes and cucumbers for citrus fruits. The products are mainly sent to the domestic market.
