Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are extending their partnership in mechanical engineering. A bilateral memorandum of cooperation worth more than 200 billion tenge (over US$450.4 million) was signed today during the fourth meeting of the Kazakh-Uzbek Business Council in Nur-Sultan city. The event took place as part of the first state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kazakhstan after his reelection to the presidency. The agreement provides for an increase in the assortment of the produced model range of cars assembled in Kazakhstan. Investments in the amount of 160 billion tenge (US$364.3 million) are provided for the implementation of the project. Also, the agreements of the parties include enhanced cooperation in agricultural machinery sector. Industrial cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan already has several successful projects in Kostanai and Nur-Sultan.
