Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan set to interconnect energy systems along Caspian Sea bed

Kazakhstan is set to sell green energy to Europe jointly with Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. To this end, the countries intend to lay a high-voltage cable along the Caspian Sea bed. In Tashkent, the parties have signed a memorandum of cooperation on interconnecting the countries’ energy systems. According to the Kazakh Ministry of Energy, the document envisages that the countries will explore all possibilities for implementing this project and define the key partnership conditions. Notably, the basic approaches for implementing the project have already been agreed upon, the relevant ministry notes.
