Kazakhstan to install five seismic stations

Five seismic stations are set to be installed in Kazakhstan by 2026. Also, major renovations are planned for the Almaty central seismic observatory. The work will be funded by the Institute of Geophysics, China Earthquake Administration. The corresponding memorandum was signed by Kazakhstan’s National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research and the Earthquake Agency of China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. According to the Kazakh Ministry of Science and Higher Education, an international meeting on earthquake forecasting will be held in China in July, featuring scientists from Kazakhstan’s National Center for Seismological Observations and Research.
