The Kazakh capital will host the next round of talks on Syria. The 19th international meeting will be held on November 22 and 23. Delegations from Russia, Turkey, Iran, Syria’s Government and the Syrian opposition will participate in the event. Representatives of the UN, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq are expected to arrive in Astana as observers. The agenda will include issues related to the economic and humanitarian situation in Syria, comprehensive promotion of the political process, and also confidence-building measures, such as the release of hostages and the search for missing persons. The mobilization of the international community’s efforts for the reconstruction of Syria and the creation of conditions for the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland is also on the agenda.
