Kazakhstan to expand sales market for flour and grain

Kazakhstan intends to expand the sales market for certain agricultural products, such as flour and grain. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, there are also plans to reduce raw grain exports and increase the supply of finished products abroad. The Ministry noted that deep grain processing equipment is already being used in several regions, including Turkistan, North Kazakhstan, and Almaty. To date, around 89 percent of the grain has been harvested, with a total output exceeding 21 million tonnes. The yield is nearly 15 centners per hectare. The southern regions have already completed the harvesting campaign, while work continues in the northern regions. The Ministry also emphasized that the volume of grain is sufficient to meet domestic demand.

«The task has been set for the Ministry of Agriculture by the Head of State and the government. Currently, we are implementing several projects focused on deeper grain processing. The products we obtain include animal feed, vitamins, starch, and molasses. All these products, resulting from deeper grain processing, are in higher demand and provide greater margins for our producers,» said Yermek Kenzhekhanuly, Kazakh Vice Minister of Agriculture.
