This year, Kazakhstan
plans to launch a unified register of domestic producers, replacing three
existing certificates: CT-KZ, export, and industrial certificates. This will
help identify products manufactured by local entrepreneurs, as well as improve
the targeting and effectiveness of state support for businesses. The Mazhilis,
the Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament, approved the draft law on determining
the country of origin for goods in the first reading. According to MPs,
entrepreneurs will be able to apply for entry into the register through their
personal accounts. They will have to undergo digital verification and
production assessment with the help of a visiting commission which will include
representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Construction, relevant state
agencies, and associations. The unified register is designed to boost the
country’s production growth.
«This is President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s instruction to create a register of domestic producers
to efficiently utilize state funds and support measures. It will be a law,
specifying the authorized body, the rules for submitting applications, and how
everything will be reviewed. There are about 57,000 producers in Kazakhstan,» noted
Mukash Iskandirov, a member of the Mazhilis, the Lower House of the Kazakh
Parliament.
