As part of the Year of
Working Professions declared by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, it is
necessary to expand preferential mortgage and rental housing programs in
Kazakhstan, as stated by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov during a government meeting
on the further development of housing construction. He emphasized the
importance of strengthening efforts to provide apartments to citizens in need under
a one-window principle as part of the transformation of the Otbasy Bank into a
development institute. The meeting also discussed intensifying efforts to
attract private investments for the development of the industry. Various
proposals were presented, including funding for preferential programs,
supporting industrial enterprise personnel, and launching new products.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Industry and Construction summarised the results for
2024 regarding the commissioning of new housing. Last year, around 19 million
square meters of housing were built, representing a 6.5 percent increase
compared to 2023. The plan is to reach 111 million
square meters by 2029.
