Kazakhstan lifts land border restrictions with three countries

Kazakhstan will lift restrictions at its land borders with Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Russia starting today. The Interdepartmental Commission on Preventing the Spread of Coronavirus Infection adopted this decision on April 6. Also, all restrictions on crossing Kazakhstan’s state border by air are removed. However, the requirement for the mandatory presentation of a certificate with a negative PCR test result or a document confirming the completion of a full course of vaccination and revaccination against Covid remains in place. The requirement applies to Kazakh citizens and foreign nationals holding a residence permit in the country, as well as foreign citizens, provided that vaccine passports are mutually recognized.
