Kazakhstan to build new sugar plant

Kazakhstan is set to build its largest sugar plant in Atyrau. One of the Chinese companies is expected to invest in the project. The parties, represented by the regional administration and the investor, are currently in talks to implement the project, which aims to produce not only sugar but also other types of products. The plant will have a capacity of 144,000 tons per year and is expected to launch in 2026.

«We have conducted comprehensive negotiations. Since this is an investment project, agreements have been concluded with our foreign and Kazakh colleagues who will work on the project henceforth. In general, within a year and five months, we primarily plan to meet domestic demand, particularly in our Atyrau region,» said company director Lina Taiken.
