A complex for the production of a unique nitrogen-containing fertilizer suitable for almost any soil is set to be built in Kazakhstan. This will allow establishing the production of a new product for the country – urea. Additionally, there are plans to build a large-scale complex for polyethylene production. Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov held a meeting with Executive President of Tecnicas Reunidas Juan Liado, during which they discussed the implementation of new investment projects in the chemical and petrochemical sectors. Smailov emphasized the government’s readiness to provide necessary support and highlighted special prospects for investment cooperation. It is noteworthy that Spanish companies have invested around $300 million in Kazakhstan since 2005. The trade turnover between the two countries increased by 42 percent last year.
