Kazakhstan simplified the mechanism of tax declaration. Legislative measures were taken to clarify the list of assets and eliminate the obligation to provide an annual summary declaration. According to Kazakh Finance Minister Yerulan Zhamaubayev, now citizens do not need to reflect the information about property registered in government agencies and about money in second-tier banks. These data are automatically transferred to the integrated database of the relevant department. The declaration must have information about vehicles, shares in business, real estate registered in a foreign country and funds in foreign banks. The most popular ways of filing declarations among the population are the Taxpayer’s Office, the e-government website and the mobile application Е-Salyq Azamat.
“Individuals who entered the compulsory declaration system will have to subsequently submit a declaration of income and property. However, individuals do not have to do this if they did not have movements of assets and income. Based on the results of the submission of the “entry” declaration, a desk control of the submitted declarations will be carried out. Then, measures will be taken to improve the legislation,” said Yerulan Zhamaubayev, Kazakh Minister of Finance.
