Kazakhstan set to increase grain exports to foreign markets

Kazakhstan is set to increase grain exports abroad, particularly to China, with a target of three million tons. Kazakhstan primarily supplies wheat to China’s border and central provinces, while barley and feed crops are distributed throughout this country. Over the first nine months of this year, Kazakhstan sent five million tons of grain abroad, alongside more than two million tons of milled products. Central Asia remains the top buyer of Kazakh grain, with China second and Afghanistan third, having purchased 127,000 tons. Additionally, 423,000 tons were exported to Italy, Türkiye, and Russia, while grain supplies to Iran have resumed. Milled products were similarly bought by the countries of the region, China, and Afghanistan. In the latter, Kazakhstan plans to increase flour supplies.
