Kazakh Tourism National Company announced top
five best tourist villages in the country. The selected villages are Lepsi in
the Zhetisu region, Nagi Ilyassov in the Kyzylorda region, Khan Ordasy in the
West Kazakhstan region, Poperechnoye in the East Kazakhstan region, and
Shabanbai bi in the Karagandy region. The selection process prioritized natural
and cultural resources, as well as the preservation of traditional rural
activities. The project’s goal is to position villages as key attractions for
travelers seeking new routes and authentic tourism. The winners of the national
stage will go on to represent Kazakhstan at the prestigious Best Tourism
Villages by UN Tourism competition, held annually by the UN World Tourism
Organization.
