Kazakhstan’s GDP growth to exceed 5% over next three years

Over the next three years, Kazakhstan’s GDP growth is projected to average 5.3%. The government has presented forecasts for socio-economic development for 2026–2028, along with a long-term outlook through 2035. Economic growth is expected to be driven by the real sector and services, with faster expansion in manufacturing and construction. By 2028, exports are projected to reach nearly $84 billion. The meeting also approved the draft national budget for the next three years, described as balanced and reflecting all of the President’s strategic initiatives.

«State budget revenues are expected to reach 66.8 trillion tenge by 2035. Guaranteed transfers are set to be reduced to 2 trillion tenge starting in 2029. The budget deficit is forecast to gradually narrow to 0.4% of GDP in 2029 and reach zero from 2030 onward,» said Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin.

«As instructed by the Head of State, the budget remains socially oriented. At the same time, expenditures aimed at stimulating economic growth have been increased. Compared to the current year, they will rise from about 11% to 16% of total spending. These include country-wide infrastructure projects, incentive measures, and government support for businesses,» said Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
