Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover reached $117 billion in
the first ten months of this year, with exports totaling $68.5 billion,
including over $23 billion in processed goods. This was announced today at the
Government’s meeting by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy
Nurlan Baibazarov. According to him, the manufacturing sector continues to show
positive growth, primarily due to increased production in metallurgy and
mechanical engineering. Production volumes grew in 14 regions. In addition to
manufacturing, the construction industry is also showing growth. Strong
performance has been driven by the implementation of four major initiatives by the
Head of State in housing construction, the development of transport and social
infrastructure, and the modernization of engineering networks. Overall,
investments in fixed capital grew by more than 3% from January to November.
«Investments in fixed capital increased by 3.1%, with the
highest growth observed in non-resource sectors. Investment volumes in
education grew 2.2 times, in scientific and technical activities by over 42%,
in transport by more than 27%, and in manufacturing by 18%. The best results
were recorded in the Karagandy, Pavlodar, Turkistan, Almaty, and Zhetisu
regions,» Baibazarov said.
