Kazakhstan’s exports to EAEU countries double

Participation in the EAEU is strengthening Kazakhstan’s export potential. Since the establishment of the union, trade between Kazakhstan and its EAEU partners has grown by nearly 90%, while export volumes have doubled, reaching $10 billion. According to the Ministry of Trade and Integration, efforts to eliminate trade barriers within the EAEU are ongoing. Of the 70 identified restrictions, 69 have already been removed. In addition, for Kazakhstan, located at the crossroads of key routes linking China, Central Asia, Russia, and Europe, participation in the union provides an opportunity to strengthen its transit and industrial potential. At the same time, the country must focus not only on increasing transport volumes, but also on creating more favorable conditions for business and cooperation within the EAEU. This view was expressed by Mazhilis member Nursultan Baitilessov.

«This issue is discussed on our agenda every month from various perspectives, including industry, manufacturing, processing, and related sectors. In the current geopolitical environment, any alliance and strong relationship with both neighboring and distant countries are extremely important. The geopolitical situation is changing every day, and maintaining good relations with other countries is of strategic importance for Kazakhstan,» noted Nursultan Baitilessov, member of the Mazhilis, the Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament.¤
