Kazakhstan has been named the most promising
destination for Chinese tourists in 2025. The prestigious award in this category
was presented to the Kazakh Tourism National Company by the leading Chinese
online travel agency «Tongcheng Travel». The platform offers comprehensive
travel planning services and boasts over 230 million users. According to its
data, demand for trips to the country in 2024 increased by 300 percent compared
to 2023. The travel agency predicts that this trend will continue in 2025. Last
year, 655,000 people visited Kazakhstan, which is nearly 80 percent more than
in 2023. Chinese tourists, in particular, show great interest in the country’s
natural beauty, historical landmarks, and cultural heritage.
«This represents nearly a twofold increase
compared to the previous year. Of course, this growth is the result of the
visa-free regime and the policy pursued by the state. We believe that the
celebration of the Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China last year made a
significant contribution. This year, as anticipated by «Tongcheng Travel» and our
company, Kazakhstan is expected to attract even more Chinese tourists,» said
Daniyel Serzhanuly, Deputy Chairman of the Kazakh Tourism National Company.
Notably, Kazakhstan has been recognized as one
of the best countries for travel this year by the authoritative British publisher
Lonely Planet. According to CNN Travel, Almaty has been included in the list of
the top destinations worth visiting in 2025.
