Kazakhstan plans to produce around 200,000 cars by 2027

By 2027, Kazakhstan is set to produce around 200,000 cars using the small-unit assembly method. Domestic plants are expected to contribute up to 50 percent of production volumes. There are plans to achieve 20 percent production volume in 2024, and to increase this figure by 10 percent in subsequent years. Projects are underway to bolster the automotive component base in small industrial zones in the cities of Kostanai and Almaty. Notably, car seat production has already been set up in the country, alongside the launch of a multi-brand plant project for Chinese car manufacturing. Further plans include putting into operation enterprises for the production of plastic parts and multimedia systems. From January 1, 2026, every car brand manufactured in Kazakhstan will master welding and painting operations. Domestic production in the machine-building industry increased by 25 percent in the first quarter of this year.
