Kazakhstan plans to expand grain exports to new
destinations, including markets in Egypt and other Arab countries, Minister of
Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov announced. According to him, the country’s grain
reserves currently stand at 20 million tonnes, with 12 million tonnes
designated for export. Of this amount, 5 million tonnes have already been
shipped abroad.
«New markets are opening up, and we are currently exporting
through Russia and the Baltic countries. Furthermore, we plan to enter new
markets, including Egypt and other Arab states. We are scheduled to travel
there on February 17 for a working visit to sign an agreement,» said Saparov.
