Kazakhstan may attract
significant investment in green technologies, according to experts from the
Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). To date, the financial institution
is working with the country’s government on alternative energy projects. The
Bank has already invested about $47 million in the construction of the Zhanatas
wind farm with a capacity of 100 megawatts. Another area of cooperation is the
development of transit infrastructure. It is well known that the country’s
government is set to diversify transport routes, one of which is the
Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. The parties are expected to
discuss the prospects for joint work at the annual meeting of the Asian
Infrastructure Investment Bank in Sharm el-Sheikh this September.
