An industrial trade and logistics complex is
set to be established on the border between Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic,
following the corresponding intergovernmental agreement ratified by the members
of the Senate, an Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament. The facility, covering
an area of 7.6 square kilometers, is expected to start operations in 2027. The
construction will be funded entirely by investments totaling nearly 30 billion
tenge. The complex will include warehouses for goods and equipment storage, as
well as transport and logistics infrastructure, featuring cooperation projects
on production sites. Notably, since 2020, mutual trade turnover has doubled.
Last year, the figure reached $1.6 billion, with Kazakh exports accounting for over
$1 billion.
«The leaders of our states have set a task to
double the indicators of bilateral trade by 2030 and bring it to $3 billion. In
this regard, we believe that establishing an industrial trade and logistics
complex in the area of the Karasu and Ak-Tilek road checkpoints is a necessary
step to intensify our bilateral cooperation and increase mutual trade turnover,
as well as to expand trade relations with third countries and effectively
integrate into international production systems,» said Senate Member Bauyrzhan
Kaniyev.
