Kazakhstan issues commemorative postage stamp for fifth World Nomad Games

A commemorative postage stamp of the fifth World Nomad Games was solemnly presented at the Kazanat hippodrome in Astana, the main venue for the international competition. The stamp from the «Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan» series features the image of a berkutchi (eagle hunter). This figure represents a guardian of ancient traditions, symbolizing perseverance and loyalty to one’s roots. According to the organizers, the stamp will also symbolize respect for the cultural heritage of nomadic peoples. The print run of the stamp is 5,000 copies, and its face value is 500 tenge.

«This is a very significant event, symbolizing the importance of the fifth World Nomad Games for our country. This event has already entered the history of our independent state. It will be a very exciting spectacle, filled with emotions and vivid colors. It will showcase our national Kazakh sport,» said Nail Nurov, head of the Directorate for the Preparation and Holding of the fifth World Nomad Games.
