Kazakhstan and Indonesia are
aiming to boost their trade turnover to $1 billion. The potential for
increasing trade volumes between the two countries lies in the food industry, including
halal certified products. According to the relevant ministry, trade between the
countries reached about $172.5 million during the January to May period,
representing an almost four percent increase compared to the same period last
year. Kazakhstan’s exports to Indonesia amounted to nearly $78.5 million in
five months. The main exports include ferroalloys, coal, varieties of grain
crops, asbestos, and electrical equipment. In turn, Indonesia imports household
appliances, oils, passenger cars, and other products from Kazakhstan.
