Kazakhstan has identified 17 major projects for creating
high-value-added clusters in sectors such as metallurgy, petrochemistry, food,
automotive, chemicals, and tourism. According to the Kazakh Ministry of
National Economy, the implementation of these projects will not only create new
jobs but also boost exports by six trillion tenge and provide import
substitution worth over 1.5 trillion tenge. In his state-of-the-nation address,
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the government compiled a list of 17
major projects, with a priority on high-value-added areas. The Head of State
emphasized the importance of maximizing the use of domestic raw materials and
components, as well as establishing related industries around major
enterprises.
