Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev met with Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic
Co-operation and Development (OECD) Mathias Cormann within the Boao Forum for
Asia. The Head of State emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to
cooperation with the OECD, aiming to align the economic policies with its high
standards. Kazakhstan has already signed a number of important documents, and
work is currently underway to accede to the Organization’s other mandatory
legal instruments. The Head of State emphasized the importance of continuing
the work on opening a regional OECD office in Kazakhstan. For his part, Mathias
Cormann confirmed the Organization’s commitment to strengthen comprehensive
cooperation with Asian countries, including Kazakhstan.
