Kazakhstan plans to invest 17
trillion tenge in enhancing its energy sector. A pool of 60 investment projects
has been formed, focusing on commissioning new energy capacities, according to
a report from the relevant department. These projects include the construction
of gas processing plants, the expansion of domestic refineries – in particular,
to 12 million tons in Shymkent and to eight million tons in Pavlodar – and projects
in renewable energy sources and petrochemicals. All of them will improve energy
security, introduce innovative technologies at energy facilities, and reduce
the negative environmental impact.
