Kazakhstan explores blind deposits

Kazakhstan is studying complex blind deposits in the search for mineral resources. According to the country’s Ministry of Industry and Construction, they are located at depths of hundreds and thousands of meters. It is planned to apply fundamentally new approaches for their discovery. Particularly, it is proposed to conduct remote sensing of each area using spectral analysis methods to identify anomalies. Also, aerogeophysical surveys will be conducted to help detect blind deposits. This year, it is planned to carry out exploration of the northern part of the Balkhash Lake area and the Kalba-Narym ore zone. The next phase will involve laboratory analysis of samples. It bears noting that last year, 60 prospective mineral sites were identified in the country. The value of predicted resources exceeds $300 billion. Overall, the total geological exploration coverage of the territory approached two million square kilometers.
