Kazakhstan establishes direct contacts with major international brands

Kazakhstan is establishing direct contacts with international brands. Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov reported on this in his response to a request from the members of the Parliament. According to him, today about 300 international companies, represented in many sectors of the economy, announced that they are leaving the Russian market or limiting their investments, supply of goods or other activities. Most of the products of these brands were previously supplied to Kazakhstan through distributors of foreign enterprises located in the neighboring Russia.

“Foreign companies are interested in Kazakhstan in many important areas and because of business conditions. The country has a stable banking system, and the state provides support to businesses and investors. Preferential taxation also plays an important role. In this regard, the Government has begun working with the offices of foreign companies in order to understand their strategies for working in Central Asia and the CIS,” the PM noted.

According to the Prime Minister, in order for major international companies to be represented in the Kazakh market, the country needs to work out all organizational and legislative issues. The Middle Corridor joint venture that includes Kazakhstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey is also under development. It is expected to be officially ready in early to mid-2023.
