Kazakhstan, Czech Republic strengthen economic cooperation

Trade between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic amounted to over $600 million in 2024. Kazakhstan became one of the top five suppliers of crude oil to the Czech Republic. Last year, more than one million tonnes of crude oil were exported to the Czech market, as announced at the 12th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Industrial, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation between the two countries, which was attended by members of both governments. The parties identified energy, the extraction of minerals and critical raw materials, mechanical engineering, agriculture, and digitalization as promising areas for enhanced cooperation. They also expressed interest in the joint development of nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and aviation.

«We are currently working on issues related to aircraft maintenance services, as well as the localization and expansion of production at our existing plant in Semei, with the involvement of Czech manufacturers. We already have cooperation in the production of Škoda cars. There are plans for mutual business collaboration, which may involve either our technologies or theirs,» noted Kazakh Vice Minister of Industry and Construction  Olzhas Saparbekov.
