Kazakhstan celebrated Independence Day. On
December 16, 1991, 33 years ago, the relevant Constitutional Law was adopted,
proclaiming the country an independent, democratic, and legal state. Among the
first to recognize independent Kazakhstan were Türkiye, the U.S., China, the UK,
Mongolia, France, and other countries. It is important to note that December 16
symbolizes the revival of statehood and the embodiment of the people’s dream of
freedom. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the people of Kazakhstan
on this historic day, reminding that it is the duty of every citizen to protect
independence like the apple of their eye. The Head of State is confident that, by
maintaining our unity, peace and stability in society, we will overcome all
challenges and reach new heights on the path of progress.
