Kazakhstan and Russia sign Declaration on comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to Russia holds strategic significance, demonstrating the readiness of both countries to further strengthen their bilateral partnership. This view has been expressed by domestic experts. The Declaration on the transition of interstate relations between Russia and Kazakhstan to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance, signed during the visit, is of historical importance. As President Tokayev noted, it reflects the inviolability of mutual trust between the two countries and opens up broad prospects for cooperation. The document has also become a subject of discussion among political scientists and analysts, who note that in today’s rapidly changing world, the declaration is becoming a critically important document.

«The declaration is a vivid example of our strategic cooperation, representing a long-term vision for collaboration in the years ahead. In essence, it signifies a deepening of our partnership and trust that will endure through any future changes in the economic or political situation. At present, as we know, issues of water and food security are among the priorities. These shared challenges are of concern not only to Russia and Kazakhstan but also to the countries of Central Asia as a wholenoted Alisher Tastenov, chief expert at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies (KazISS) under the President of Kazakhstan.
