Kazakhstan's Central Election Commission (CEC) has
accredited 10 more international observers for the upcoming Kurultai elections,
bringing the total number of representatives from foreign countries and
international organizations to 96. In addition, 82 polling stations have been
established in 65 countries to facilitate voting abroad. They will operate at
Kazakhstan's embassies and consulates. The CEC also reminded voters of the
voting rules. Once a ballot has been marked, it must not be photographed,
filmed, or shared online. This is intended to preserve the secrecy of the vote
and ensure the free expression of voters' will. The CEC also held an online
seminar for media representatives, outlining the stages of the election
campaign, the rules for covering the elections, and the regulations governing
election campaigning. The commission noted that such events help ensure the
transparency of the electoral process and provide citizens with objective
information.
