A Kazakh yurt will decorate the Seaside Boulevard of Baku. This is how the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan is being marked. Until the end of August, the city’s residents and guests will be able to visit two exhibitions held there. The permanent one will present the sights of Kazakhstan, such as Shymbulak ski resort, Baikonur cosmodrome and Kyran falconry center. A weekly changing exposition will demonstrate the tourist potential of Almaty and Shymkent metropolises, as well as Almaty, Turkistan and Mangystau regions. Open-air concerts and entertainment events are also planned to be held. In addition, visitors will be able to taste the national dishes of the country of the Great Steppe and learn about the ancient nomads’ world.
“Craftspeople, artists, tour operators and travel agents from all regions of the country will be coming there during this month. In addition, we are taking tourists there. After the pandemic, after a long break, we want to remind your people that there is a brotherly people of Kazakhstan,” Alexander Aknazarov, manager of the ‘Welcome to KZ’ project, said.
“A number of events are planned to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, with the opening of the Kazakh yurt being the main event. It reveals the similarity of our cultures, way of life and traditions. And this proves once again how careful we are to our roots and history. We are strengthening not only our diplomatic relations, but also cultural ties. We have a huge potential in this regard, so many joint projects are planned for the future,” Elnur Aliyev, First Deputy Culture Minister of Azerbaijan, said.
