Kazakh stuntmen may
appear in the films of the legendary Jackie Chan. Recently, they, led by the
director of Nomad Stunts, held negotiations with the world cinema icon. It
bears noting that the shooting of a new film by the renowned actor is currently
underway in China.
“I have been
longing to meet Jackie Chan for a while now. I have worked extensively with the
guys from his team and always told them we should meet him and talk to him,
especially since he's not far away. He is a legend. Fortunately, we finally had
the chance to meet and discuss some points. It is possible that we will meet
again in December to discuss our collaboration in more detail. He asked his
assistant to gather our information, including our resumes and showreels. And
he mentioned that he would have some free time in December and suggested
meeting again. I believe that this collaboration is very much possible,” Zhaidarbek
Kunguzhinov, Director of the Nomad Stunts International Action Company, shared.
The most recent
major project involving domestic stuntmen was the shooting of the historical
film ‘Napoleon’ directed by Ridley Scott. This film is set to have a worldwide
release in the near future. Additionally, Kazakh stunt artists are actively
participating in various other renowned international projects. The plans have
been scheduled for the months ahead.
“Around 7-8 of our
team members are heading to Bollywood. As for myself, I will most likely be
going to Europe with five more people. Once we wrap up there, I will join the
team in India. We also have two projects in Turkey. Currently, we are working
on a project with Uzbekkino, focusing on modern action scenes involving cars
and fights. Our team members are already on-site, preparing for the action.
Indeed, we have a lot of ongoing projects at the moment. We also have some
interesting news I cannot disclose at this time. If all goes well, in two
months, after the negotiations, we will have precise information, and I will be
able to share it with you. So, there’s plenty of news in store,” Kunguzhinov
added.
It bears noting
that the Kazakh stunt group is renowned as the best in the world arena. Nomad
Stunts participated in the filming of popular movies such as ‘Mulan’, ‘The
Letter for the King’, ‘47 Ronin’, ‘The Expendables 2’, ‘The Road to Mother’,
‘Shal’ and others. Their exceptional stunts in the film ‘Tomiris’ earned them
the prestigious Taurus award, often referred to as the Oscar for stunt
performers.
