Kazakh serviceman Timur Yerzhanov ran 80 kilometers to mark
the Victory anniversary. He completed the distance in seven hours, 21 minutes,
and 11 seconds. He was accompanied by fellow soldiers along the way but ran
most of the route alone. At the finish line, he was greeted by his commanders
and family. Yerzhanov has no plans to stop there—he is already preparing for a
200-kilometer run from his hometown of Zhanaarka to Karagandy.
«I started preparing in February during my 15-day leave.
Since then, I’ve been running 10 kilometers every day and also walking to work
from home. Running 80 kilometers was no easy feat, but my command supported
me,» Yerzhanov said.
