Kazakh Prime Minister visits facilities in Almaty industrial zone

During his working visit to Almaty, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov emphasized the importance of supporting businesses and enhancing tools to stimulate business activity. He inspected facilities in an industrial zone, noting the need to replicate successful practices in other regions. Particularly, Bektenov visited a new logistics distribution center under construction, covering 100,000 square meters with an estimated cost of nearly 13 billion tenge and completion expected by the second quarter of 2025. Notably, a second similar center is planned for the Kazakh capital. Bektenov also reviewed the small industrial parks program, highlighting their role in supporting small business entities. He toured a car manufacturing plant in Almaty, slated for expansion and modernization completely through investor funds exceeding 16 billion tenge.

«The Kazakh automotive industry has already established itself and will continue to advance. The government will provide comprehensive support to businesses in all necessary areas. I recognize your strong desire to develop further and move towards deeper integration and increased localization. Thus, Kazakhstan should emerge as a powerful automotive state,» Bektenov said.

Overall, 11 small industrial parks are now operating in Almaty with total investments amounting to 3.6 billion tenge. An additional 26 projects are planned for implementation by 2026.
