Kazakh President receives Special Advisor to Prime Minister of Japan

The volume of Japanese investments in Kazakhstan’s economy has exceeded $8 billion. There is significant potential for strengthening cooperation between the two countries, including in the scientific and technical sphere. This was discussed today at a meeting in the Akorda Presidential Palace by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Akihisa Nagashima, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan. The Head of State emphasized that Kazakhstan remains committed to providing favourable conditions for investors, including leading Japanese companies. In turn, Akihisa Nagashima reaffirmed Tokyo's strong commitment to further strengthening Kazakh-Japanese multifaceted relations. The two sides underscored the importance of enhancing high-level political dialogue. 

«Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the development of strategic partnership with Japan. Our countries have established close relations based on friendship and mutual understanding. As we say: «Kazakhstan and Japan are distant neighbors but close friends.» Japan is a key trade, economic, and investment partner of Kazakhstan,» Tokayev said.
