Since the beginning of
the parliamentary session, the Mazhilis, the lower house of the Kazakh
Parliament, has adopted 62 laws, forwarding them to the Senate, the upper
house. Of these, 55 laws have already been signed by President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev. These are the Water Code, as well as laws on financial market
development, consumer protection in financial services, and healthcare. Mazhilis
Chairman Yerlan Koshanov briefed Tokayev on the lower house’s activities.
Currently, 76 draft laws are under review, including the Tax and Construction
Codes, and laws on knowledge-intensive territories and artificial intelligence.
Koshanov also reported on the progress of parliamentary
