Kazakh President receives Human Rights Commissioner

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Human Rights Commissioner Artur Lastayev. The Commissioner presented his annual report, highlighting that the rights of over 900 Kazakh citizens had been protected. Overall, the Commissioner’s office received more than 5,000 inquiries. Currently, the human rights institution is developing a special report on combating domestic violence. The Head of State was also briefed on the full-fledged launch of territorial representatives, the operation of the national preventive mechanism, and the intensification of cooperation with international human rights organizations and civil society. President Tokayev emphasized the need to further strengthen guarantees for human rights protection.
