Kazakh President receives Children’s Rights Commissioner

Kazakhstan’s Commissioner for Children’s Rights, Dinara Zakiyeva, initiated 120 amendments to legislation aimed at protecting children’s rights and strengthening the child protection system. This year, monitoring conducted in 13 regions confirmed the effectiveness of 112 family support centres in preventing domestic violence. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed that the system of guarantees for protecting children’s rights be strengthened and that measures be developed to promote inclusive education.

Today, the Head of State was also briefed on the National Security Committee’s performance since the beginning of the year and the tasks set for the upcoming period. The Committee’s Chairman, Yermek Sagimbayev, reported that a meeting of the Anti-Terrorism Center reviewed the implementation of a comprehensive plan to develop the state system for countering extremism and terrorism. Additional risk mitigation measures were also developed. Following the meeting, President Tokayev gave a number of instructions.
