Last year, domestic auditors conducted 27 inspections at 214
facilities. As a result, 135 billion tenge was returned to the country’s budget
- five times more than the previous year, as reported to President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev today by the Chairman of the Supreme Audit Chamber Alikhan Smailov. He
noted that systemic deficiencies were identified in construction, the financing
of manufacturing industry projects, and subsidizing the agro-industrial complex.
To eliminate them, the agency has sent recommendations to the Government and instructions
to the responsible state bodies. This year, more than 40 audits are planned,
including in Astana, Almaty, and several regions.
«On the instructions of the Head of State, audits will be
conducted on the execution of the budgets of Astana and Almaty, as well as those
of the North Kazakhstan, Kostanai, and Zhambyl regions. Additionally, audits
will cover the Samruk-Kazyna Fund, the Kazatomprom national company, the Electricity
Grid Operating Company KEGOC, and the Ministry for Emergency Situations.
Furthermore, it will extend to the fields of science, defense, sports, and
other sectors. The Head of State instructed to continue improving the state audit
system to ensure effective control over the use of budget funds,» Smailov
noted.
