President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s working visit to the
Mangystau region began with a tour of the Aktau wholesale distribution center,
the first of its kind in the region. The center is designed to play a key role
in ensuring food security, reducing intermediaries, and lowering food prices.
Covering an area of 80,000 square meters, the complex has the capacity to store
up to 40,000 tonnes of products. The project has received an investment of 5
billion tenge, with the second phase set to launch by the end of the year.
The second facility visited by the Head of State was the
technopark at the Caspian University of Technology and Engineering. He was
introduced to a training area for IT specialists under an international
program, as well as a laboratory focused on developing digital and
telecommunications competencies. During a conversation with students, the
President emphasized that the development of fields related to high technology
and artificial intelligence has become especially relevant today. He also noted
the demand for qualified specialists in transportation and logistics across the
country.
Next, the President visited the BS Arena multifunctional
sports complex. It features courts for volleyball, basketball, and futsal;
indoor and outdoor tennis courts; a swimming pool; martial arts and fitness
halls; as well as a football field with a grandstand. He spoke with local
athletes and wished them success.
The Head of State also visited the Aktau international
seaport, a key logistics hub for the country. The port is a modern
multi-purpose terminal that operates around the clock, handling cargo
transshipment along East-West and North-South routes. According to Minister of
Transport Marat Karabayev, 24 infrastructure projects totaling nearly two
trillion tenge are being implemented in the region. In Aktau, construction of a
container hub is underway, which will increase the port's capacity. The
President also instructed that the construction of an airport in the Kenderli
resort area be accelerated. He emphasized the region’s importance as a
transport and logistics hub for Eurasia, highlighting that the implementation
of this initiative is of strategic significance.
