Kazakh President pays working visit to Aktobe Region

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Aktobe region, starting his working trip with a tour of industrial facilities. His first stop was the Bolashak mine, which has a design capacity of 7.5 million tonnes of chromite ore per year. Investments in the enterprise exceed one trillion tenge. The launch of the mine is  expected to be a historic event for Kazakhstan’s mining industry and to open up new opportunities for industrial growth.

The Head of State also toured local educational institutions. The Khromtau Mining and Technical Higher College, the only training center for the mining industry in the western part of the country, has more than 1,150 future specialists enrolled. The educational process incorporates advanced technologies that successfully combine practical and theoretical knowledge. At a special mining training ground, students practice complex maneuvers in operating machinery. President Tokayev spoke to the students and graduates of the educational institution, reminding them of the importance of working professions. The upcoming year will specifically mark this focus.

«I am a future beneficiation specialist. This working profession is considered one of the important roles in the mining sector. It involves not only processing chromite ore but also sorting it into valuable components and waste.»

«I come from a dynasty of miners, so, of course, I decided to follow in my parents’ footsteps and enroll in this college. I am confident that hard work is the key to success.»

President Tokayev also visited Khromtau Secondary School No. 1, where digital technologies are being widely implemented. As part of a special pilot project, teachers exchange experiences remotely. The Head of State also attended an online open lesson and presented the school with a bus.
