In New York, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev continued a series of meetings with representatives of the U.S. business community. He discussed the implementation of an investment project in the Almaty region with Stephen Kehoe, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the PepsiCo Foundation. It is worth noting that the company is building a snack production plant there with an investment of $368 million.
The Head of State also met with Amazon Senior Vice President David Zapolsky to discuss prospects for cooperation in AI,
digitalization, and communications. He supported the
joint plans of Amazon and Kazakh companies to provide nationwide broadband
Internet access and strengthen cybersecurity. As part of the
visit to New York, JSC Kazakhtelecom and Amazon Kuiper signed a distribution
agreement to provide access to the Kuiper satellite network. The company plans
to deploy infrastructure in Almaty, Akkol, and Aktau, investing around $200
million.
At a meeting with Frank Bruno, CEO of Cerberus Capital
Management, the potential of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route was discussed. The company expressed interest in
investing in its development.
The
series of meetings between the Kazakh President and U.S.
business leaders continued with a discussion with Michael Wirth, Chairman of
the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Chevron Corporation. The parties
focused on the implementation of the Future Growth Project at Tengiz, the
prospects for gas production and processing at Karachaganak, as well as the
development of hydrocarbon supply routes to global markets, including via the
Middle Corridor.

Tengiz. We talked about opportunities for us to work on investment into the
energy economy of Kazakhstan and the reliable supply of energy to global
markets which is so important to Europe and to the world,» noted Michael Wirth, Chairman and CEO of Chevron
Corporation.
President Tokayev discussed the prospects for further work at the Tengiz and Kashagan fields with Darren Woods, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of ExxonMobil, one of Kazakhstan’s key partners in the oil and gas industry.
The Head of State discussed potential applications of innovative technologies with Yann LeCun, Vice President of Meta.
In addition, digitalization
and potential joint projects on building data centers in Kazakhstan were among
the topics discussed by the Head of State and Stephen Schwarzman, Chairman and
Co-Founder of Blackstone.
The
main topic of the meeting with Francisco Gomes Neto, President and CEO of
Embraer, was cooperation in the field of cargo transportation. The parties also
discussed the prospects of opening a service center in Kazakhstan for the
maintenance of Embraer aircraft.
President Tokayev discussed
the financing of large-scale projects in Kazakhstan with Jane Fraser, Chief
Executive Officer of Citigroup. Jane Fraser noted that she regards partnership
with Kazakhstan as one of the most important areas.
