Kazakh President holds meeting of counter-terrorism headquarters

Overall, the constitutional order in Kazakhstan was restored. This morning, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting of the counter-terrorism headquarters attended by the leaders the Presidential Administration, the Security Council and law enforcement agencies.

They reviewed the operational situation in the country, the course of the anti-terrorism operation, as well as the situation in the regions. The law enforcement forces are working hard right now. Local agencies control the situation, but terrorists still use weapons and damage property. It is known that counter-terrorism actions will continue until the complete destruction of the militants.

Besides, the heads of security forces reported that units of the CSTO peacekeeping contingent began to arrive in Kazakhstan. They flew in the country for a limited period to ensure the protection of strategic facilities. Following the meeting, the President issued a number of orders to further stabilize the situation in the country. In addition, according to the press secretary of the head of state Berik Uali, the President will address the people of Kazakhstan. It will be broadcast on national channels.
